Your children deserve to smile with joy and confidence. Your pediatric dentist in Libertyville, Illinois, can make that happen through quality dental care. Pediatric dentistry offers specialized services tailored to the needs of children and teens. At Libertyville Dental Associates, we offer pediatric dental services to families in our local community. Here’s what you should know about pediatric dentistry.
All dentists complete educational requirements and receive specialized training in their field. Pediatric dentists gain extra knowledge, training, and skills in meeting the dental needs of children and teens. You can benefit from their specialized expertise in this field by collaborating closely with Dr. Sam Weisz and our team.
Dr. Weisz recommends that children see a dentist within 6 months of receiving their first tooth or around one year of age. This allows us to ensure your baby’s teeth and gums are healthy.
A first pediatric dental visit is generally short and sweet. We’ll meet your little one and get pertinent information about his or her health and dental care. Dr. Weisz will check your infant’s teeth and gums for signs of abnormalities. We may even try to do a little cleaning. We’ll also provide input on how to care for your infant’s teeth and answer any questions you may have about his or her oral care.
We recommend children see their dentist at 6-month intervals for checkups and cleanings. If your child is experiencing significant dental issues, we may recommend more frequent visits to address and manage these concerns.
Your child’s baby teeth are crucial for his or her oral health. They pave the way for healthy permanent teeth to emerge. They also assist your child with eating, speaking, and smiling for the first seven years or so of his or her life. Premature loss of primary teeth can cause neighboring teeth to shift, potentially impacting the alignment of permanent teeth as they erupt. By taking good care of your child’s baby teeth, you avoid problems with permanent teeth coming in.
Pediatric dentists provide specialized dental services for children and teens, ensuring your kids get the best care. Your Libertyville pediatric dentist has ample experience working with children and can help put them at ease. We make dental care exciting and fun for kids so they don’t develop phobias early. We assist children in establishing good oral care habits that will help maintain the quality of their smiles for a lifetime.
