Yes, digital X-rays are included as part of the new patient special. Digital X-rays are an essential diagnostic tool that allows our dentists to detect hidden dental issues such as cavities between teeth, bone loss, and other structural problems that may not be visible during a routine exam. These X-rays use significantly less radiation than traditional film X-rays, making them safer and more efficient. They help us create an accurate treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs.
After your initial appointment, most patients are advised to schedule routine dental check-ups and cleanings every six months. This twice-yearly schedule helps maintain your oral health by catching potential problems early, providing professional cleanings, and reinforcing good dental hygiene habits. However, some patients with specific dental concerns—such as gum disease, dental implants, or a history of cavities—may require more frequent visits.
At Libertyville Dental Associates, we pride ourselves on staying at the forefront of dental technology to provide the best care possible. During your new patient exam, you’ll benefit from state-of-the-art tools such as digital imaging, which allows you to see detailed images of your teeth and gums on a screen in real time. We also use the Velscope system for early oral cancer detection, a painless and non-invasive procedure that enhances safety. The intra-oral camera gives you a close-up view of your mouth, helping you understand your dental health better.
